Dear Parker (16 month),

Dear Parker,

Another late letter month! Many apologies little man. We have had another busy, fun month. You are becoming more active and very opinionated. You are talking more and become quite frustrated if I don't understand right away. Be patient, little man, I'm trying! You quickly can swing between being a giggly little trickster to being one mad baby. On a few occasions this month, you became so exasperated at something (such as my audacity at baby-gating you from climbing up the stairs) that you threw yourself down on the ground and began tearing at your clothes. Really, littlest one, it just isn't that bad. Just when I start getting discouraged, you'll flash me a signature Parker grin with your big blue eyes and mommy is one smitten kitten once again.

Some of your favorite words to say are more (you even now use the corresponding sign - hurrah!), baby (pronounced bayyyy-beee), cow and of course hi and bye. The report from school is that you are the friendliest baby on the buggy - greeting everyone with an enthusiastic "hi"!

Even though the summer has been unseasonably cool, we spent a lot of time in the water. You love your float (we refer to it as your boat) and enjoy digging in the sand. You think the cute girls in bikinis are even more exciting than shovels and sand!

Towards the end of the month, we brought you your very own rocking chair. So far, you love it! You have even been known to spend some rare moments of quiet reading your books and rocking your troubles away.

Other highlights of the month:
- showing dad the kitchen at school complete with a pot roast from your best girl, Emersen
- acting super excited when Dad tells you I'm coming home
- moving furniture
- concerts at Bluebird Canyon park (doing laps, throwing trash in other people's (non-trash) wagons
- cupcakes

- dipping food (or fingers) in various dips
- running into walls at school

- dancing anytime you hear music
- driving

We love you baby boy (even if you are getting so big)!

Love, Mommy
