Growing Up Gorr

Dear Parker (15 Month)

Dear Parker,
I'm late again with your letter little boy. My excuse this month (and probably for many months to come) is that you just run me ragged! You have perfected walking and will be running before too long. You certainly don't like staying in once place for very long...and thus, my fatigue, and my lateness....
It's been a great month, little one! You enjoying making many discoveries now that you have joined the upright, tw0-legged folk. You surprised me and your Dad this month when one afternoon, you walked to the refrigerator, opened the door, got an apple out and proceeded to eat it. We didn't think you'd be able to get much of that apple down (having only 6 teeth and all). You were able to enjoy quite a few bites - I think you were as surprised as we were!

We spent a lot of time this month on playgrounds. Previously, your visits to the playground were comprised primarily of being pushed on the baby swing. This month, you expanded your reportoire to include slides, tunnels and see saws. You LOVE the slide and always giggle on the way down. The big problem now is trying to get you to leave the playground. This endeavor is almost often met with loud protests and seemingly, a temporary loss of the ability to walk (both by you). I'm very glad you enjoy your playtime but little boys need to do other things besides play all day!

Although you are definitely a sweet little guy, you did have a few moments of naughtiness. One of the funnier moments was when we went to visit Mommy's friend Christina and her brand new baby, Kailyn. While Kailyn was eating lunch, you snuck up on her mom and tried to peak under the nursing cover! You flirt!
On the nautiness theme, your new favorite pastime is flinging food from your highchair. You fling with such gusto! The most aerodynamic of items thus far is green beans. While I do appreciate your enthusiasm, I wish you would at least try to help us keep the floor a little cleaner. Actually, that brings up another of your favorite pasttimes, sweeping! You like to get the broom and dustpan out and commence sweeping. Perhaps the food flinging is merely an attempt to provide items for your sweeping exercise. Such an industrious Parker!
This month we also got a lot of good quality time with your best girl, Emersen. You had two pool parties and even an extended play date at her house one day when school was closed. So fun!
Other things you enjoyed this month:
riding the train at the Spectrum
buggy rides at school
making panting noises when you see puppies
freeze dancing with mommy
putting lids on everything
coloring using a tap-tap-tapping technique
waving your hands when mommy sings itsy bitsy spider
learning to go down stairs on your belly
holding any set of keys in sight (and protesting loudly when they are taken away)
We love you so little boy! Thank you for another great month!
Love,
Mommy
